That's a very kind offer, I'm not sure as my laptop doesn't appear to support 5Ghz that it would help. It might be worth a try though, I could paypal you the postage.

you can then log into the camera from any browser or use an app on your phone. You can monitor your house when on holiday and even pan and tilt the cameras, and its cheap.

I would use that however the wife wants something that's absolutely foolproof and she can just roll over and look at any time without picking up a phone etc. Thanks.

I had an av video sender that use to do this on 2.4ghz from years ago. You can get 5.8 ghz and 900mhz baby monitors, which clears the 2.4ghz channel up for you.

Have you known this actually happen? I've now got a SR102 hub which I believe is the latest and greatest Sky router and it's still 2.4 Ghz only

@cookie_monster - what video monitor is it, just wondering if it has an Ethernet port so you don't have to use wireless ?

If you do have to use wireless then as you mentioned get a dual band router or wireless access point, but then this depends on your other wireless devices as to whether or not they support 5ghz ?

Maybe set your 2.4 ghz wireless to a different channel to the baby monitor maybe ?

Yes...I did it myself. the SR103 was sent out to a handful of customers, so they may well be rolling it out to all in future.

    *edit*

The SR103 is only for people with SkyFibre. We got one as we are a test in our area for Sky FTTC

In my experience babies scream loudly when they are annoyed, no need of a monitor here

Lol, My mrs bought the lot, video monitors, Angel babycare pad/sensor things, we have an open plan lounge and our bedroom is less than 2 meters door to door from my daughters room. It's not like we live in a mansion.

FYI i used to pretend the monitors were on just to appease the wife, always switched them off as they bu@@ered with the wifi

I download an app called BabyCam monitor and BabyCam Receiver, you pay for the monitor and the receiver is free.

I use an old android phone in the room to send video and sound to my nexus 7 tablet the we leave with me.

Lucky git - I can only get DSL ( ADSL2+ to be more specific ) so no fibre what so ever and probably not for a long time either.

Ahh cool. Not to worry I'm ditching it anyway so I'll sort a wifi solution or not bother :-)
