Having seen this little gem:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/10..._redundancies/
... I'm putting in my migration code request today.. Zen will shortly be getting a new customer... actually three as my mother and one of my schools are going to be moving too.
Felt sorry for the sale guy at Nildram though, you can tell they're fighting the inevitable customer losses and whilst the emails I've had from them state that nothing will change I'm not risking it... Had too many promises broken over the years to believe that anymore. Besides the staff are always the last to find out.. :?

Re: Time to change ISP...
ex-Nildram customer here, use to be the best ISP hands down
I recently moved from Tiscali to IDNET, best move I ever made, downloading at almost 4x the speed and my gaming ping to servers is absolutely obscene now
speed test at 6.5meg down, 0.5meg up and pinging sub 25 to games.
On a line Tiscali said couldn't take more than 1meg down.

This seems like a terrible business decision. Pipex had such a large customer base because of their good customer service etc... Getting rid of that will mean mass migrations, reducing the value of their investment dramatically.
Seems like monkeys run that company.

Scumbags!
At the end of the day, I'd rather pay over the odds for a good fast reliable connection with support IN ENGLISH than cheap shoddy broadband with support in a language I cannot understand.
I hope enough people switch ISP's to make Tiscali's millions worth of investment amount to naught.
As for the people who were laid off, they'dd probably do well to make a new ISP to compete :P

Yeah... I realised I'd missed it thanks to a lot of work at the time...
Bottom line, I have time to make the move without it killing me and to be honest... having waited a day now for the MAC code I'm thinking I'm making the right decision.. I wasn't expecting to have to chase it :?
