I'm now an OFFICIAL IT Technician

Took delivery of my first supplier-branded mug today
Didn't even have to give them my e-mail, so I won't be in receipt of the usual spam that comes with it
(Maybe they'll send me some by post, just so I don't feel left out..)

Complementary single-user license copy of their full software package with it, too. That's nice

It's not official until you spend half an hour explaining to a member of staff why VPN doesn't connect when you are in school because they keep on asking "Why?"

Pfft. Child's play. Already had to do that because we got a fair few iPads in for some of the staff a while ago.
More VDI than VPN, but we don't use VPN's at all. So close enough

I'd feel guilty having a VeryPC mug. We ordered eval units off them but ended up going with Stone instead as they were smaller and felt more robust.
Good thing I don't have the purchasing power, else I'm sure suppliers might prey on my guilt and ship me lots of mugs

@X-13 BETT freebies only count if you have fought your way onto a crowded train with 8 bags of goodies just to sort out at home while your cat is climbing in the bags trying to eat all the stress balls :-)

I'm trying quite hard to be a VeryPC customer, I've got quote after quote off them and none of them has got past the purse strings yet!

    No.
Only because I don't have any, 'cept my EduGeek lanyard. But that's not a mug.
    So still no.

You are all Wrong... You know you are an IT Technician when You are Accepted and Feared by the Technology.

You know you have acheived this when you turn up to fix somthing and the user says... "Oh... Look it's working now. It didn't do that for me!"

Smile to yourself and say "I know, I'm a techie it knows better".

... and then gets its own back by telling you to "contact your system administrator" for no reason whatsoever
