I have a Monaro 6.0 VXR which is used as my daily driver and no its not that bad on petrol although my last car was a 400bhp 2.0 Turbo so maybe im not the best to judge that!
Aston Martin Vantage Roadster (07) only done 14k when I got 4 months ago.
I "try" not to use it to commute as morning runs are scary with the mpg (mid teens) once warm on a run though 22mpg isn't bad...I think?
Partners MINI does 70mpg so its balanced out (that's my excuse anyway!!)
Mini Cooper-S (turbo version) with 40k on however it will soon be for sale, ive had many problems with it but Ive never had an issue with either my Civic of several Fords including a TDCI ZS Fiesta and two Fiesta ST's, all proved to be rock solid so I'll be going back to those most likely however I don't fancy another fiesta (unless it was the new 1.6 ecoboost ST) so I might give the Focus ST a run. Good bye fuel economy!

I have my VW Tiguan 2.0 Sport, used for everything including Ikea it goes flat front to back so great for flatpacks and lots of boot space, used it to move to London last year and no issues and can fit the family in it when I'm home so that's 4 not so small adults Doing reasonable mpg of around 45ish so not bad and can move nicely when right foot is put to the floor

Pluses and minuses to each, I'd like a Citroen again, but reliability issues seem too prevalent. Honda hold their value a bit too well (as a buyer). The Multipla is butt-ugly (and I see that as a plus) Both the Honda and Fiat actually have 6 seats.
Management had a Zafira a while back when her twins were in seats, and found it OK, but no good once they started getting bigger.

If you have the budget you could go for a VW T5. There are 6, 8 and 9 seat variants. My LWB 8 seat (a very luck find as they are as rare as rocking horse droppings) still gets >35mpg and has a ’boot' around a metre deep! The 6 seat SWB is a little more practical in a car park though being little longer than most large cars. If you want to personalise it then there are lots of mods available. You can even take a standard VW panel van and have it converted in to a 6 seat as all the necessary mounting points are already in place.
