    Improving for the worse

    Just overheard:

"Why do people have to improve things for the worse? Absolutely, like, f**k off."

This turned out to be a comment on the latest Google Maps update...apparently there's some new window feature proving irksome to at least one user.

I like the concept, though; improving things for the worse. There ought to be a word for that.

To be honest I have to agree. I don't really like the new Google maps.

But I know what you mean.

There IS a word for improvements that make things worse-in German:
    Verschlimmbesserung

    Improving for the worse

But surely the Germans use this word for explaining the mistakes of other nations not for commenting on their own endeavours?
