[POLL] Should Scotland be an independent country?

With the date getting steadily closer (just under 7 months I believe..) I though I'd try and find out how people on here think about it.

Whilst I am keen to hear peoples reasons for their response, can I please ask that we keep it civil and don't let this descend into the old hatred comments between Scotland & England/RUK - they are not exactly conducive to the debate in hand.

Im not fussed either way. What I am fussed with is Salmond I'm thinking he can pick and choose what to keep and what to get rid of. He wants to keep the nhs centrally funded, keep the pound and ensure the north Sea oil is all Scottish.

    He is a bit nuts.

Agree with all of this - which I why I would (if I could) vote No.

That could be said of a lot of MPs and MSPs though!

To be honest, I don't really care, at the end of the day we're a connected island which shares it's land, we travel to and from each other so why not let them be independent?

In my view, a "No" Vote would pretty much guarantee anybody BUT an SNP government next time round!
Salmond's political career is riding on this vote..

This shows the current trend in voting so far:

If this goes through, Scotland are going to "eject" our nuclear weapons, bare in mind, no where in the UK has the capability to look after them, meaning more money spent on Trident and its eventual successor - they kicked up a big stink with trying to get into NATO with this, as USA wanted to be sure they could still "park" their nuclear subs in Scotland.

One of the many quirks in the SNP's campaign - as I though that to be a Member of NATO, you need to either have Nuclear Weapons or be willing to store the from other Member states?

I would rather a No vote but don't mind, if the Scots feel they have to go their own way then we can't really stop them.

I'm just getting annoyed with the Yes campaigns tactics of basically sticking their fingers in their ears and saying "LA LA LA LA LA LA" loudly. A question comes up, various people in the know or high up in the group that would deal with the issue give an answer and yet SNP members turn around and say that is wrong, course they can do what they want, no one can stop them as it would be unfair and bullying which isn't allowed of a new country. The other tactic is saying that something would be sorted once a Yes vote was secured. It feels very much like they can get away with saying how wonderful everything will be and everything will slot in to place without any real facts.

Part of me would love for the Yes vote to go through just to see what would happen and how long before Salmond would implode.

Salmond is like a stroppy teenager when he doesn't get his own way and blames everyone else but himself - he really needs to get a grip of the issues and listen to what the other side is saying about the currency and that of the EU - these 2 area alone they have absolutely no influence over.

...how long before Salmond would implode.

That really isn't an image I wanted swimming around in my head..

It might be interesting to use the free poll site I posted about yesterday on this poll too:
