General Chat Thread, Is this a reasonable request in General; VMWare player? I use that it home to do my testing and has never failed me....

    I thought you can only run virtual machines in VMWare player not create them?

    have a word with @ICTDirect_Dave, @CPLTD, @Millgate. @VeryPC as they all have good prices for low spec servers. This situation is where you want something off the network, so a HP Microserver may even be a good choice.

    I've created and ran virtual machines no problem at all for years.

    HP Microserver from Ebuyer with £100 cash back at the moment.
    Totals is about £78... If you upgrade the RAM to 8gig your laughing.
    Also you can sell the EEC ram it comes with on eBay to claw some more back.

    At one of my schools the head replied yeah get me some quotes so I sent him 2 one a desktop and one a laptop, no bother get the cheapest one Spot on.
    At the other school, I kind of feel like I'm been made to feel guilty for asking for one. Will it stay on site, we dont want you doing other work on it etc.
    If its a desktop then Im guessing you'd notice if i walked out with a big Tower under my arm.
    I dunno
