Still 'just windy' here in Preston. Gets a few gusts but not as bad as we've had in the past. Wouldn't like to be in east lancs.
Scrub that it's just got REALLY windy now!

Link: West Coast north of Preston to close at 19.00 | Railnews | Today's news for Tomorrow's railway
NETWORK RAIL has announced that it will close the West Coast Main Line to all traffic between Preston and Penrith for two hours from 19.00 this evening. A spokesman said winds in the area are already reaching 140km/h (90mph) and that the line would close in case overhead lines were damaged. There is also a risk from flying debris...
Well, I'm back, in one piece. There are fences, wheely bins and various bits of corrugated sheeting all over the place. I don't think my neighbors car port is going to survive the night either!

Just checked our weather station average wind speed of 54mph, highest gust so far was 84mph! Hope the roof stays put.
That's our last Ridge Tile off! luckily we had popped out in the car otherwise I would have been claiming for the car too!
Nothing in London. At all. We are indestructible.
On the up side, as I was driving home last night a plastic council recycling box blew across the road in front of me. As I was about to stop at the lights anyway, I hopped out of the car and threw it in my boot before it blew onto the main road and caused some serious damage. When I got home, my own green box had blown away. At least I don't have to order a new one now!
