Can I draw your attention to the following. Our school was hit in an identical way a month or so ago. He seems to know school routine such as assemblies.
We have received reports in the last hour that an intruder has entered the
premises of both the Bromsgrove School and the Droitwich Spa High School in
order to steal purses left unattended in the buildings. The dark-haired man
was about 5'8" tall. He was very smartly dressed in a dark suit, white shirt
and tie. He stole two purses from Bromsgrove School but was caught in the
kitchen area of Droitwich Spa High School before being able to carry out any
crime. When challenged by the staff at Droitwich Spa High School, the man
made the excuse that he was visiting the school to make enquiries over
hiring the hall. His image was caught on CCT cameras at the High School and
this has been handed to the police.
Can you please remind all your staff to be extra vigilant regarding the
security of their personal possessions at all times when they are carrying
out business on the busy school premises?

I once had a text from a friend saying that a badly dressed midget with unusually small genetalia had been found murdered....
He wanted to know if I was ok!

We have electronic door access on all access points and exits to the school and cctv everywhere too. If someone was onsite, they'd be spotted pretty quickly

We had an intruder last week..
Wheb=n a staff member walked through an accessed controlled door he caught the door before it closed and went through undetected..
He got about 15 paces before he was spotted and challenged by about 4 staff who cornered him and "escorted"him back..

Wow, we dont have any of that. We have CCTV but only outside
All doors are open to anyone
Its stupidly easy for someone to come on site unnoticed at our place

Yeah, we have CCTV inside and out but the majority of staff are pretty dozy and will let anyone wander about unchallenged. Only the caretakers and myself stop people and ask them who they are.

We are getting cctv and secure fencing but two other local schools have been done and the guy has been caught on camera. When I was interviewed by the police I told them that I would be able to recognise the guy but they haven't asked me to look at any photos. Bigger fish to fry I suppose like speeding motorists where there is less paperwork to secure a conviction.
At great cost, we have put electronic safes in every classroom for the teachers to keep valuables. I'm not sure how well they are used.

We presume we had an intruder as a computer was delivered, signed for, left on the reception desk (staff day - no office personnel) and then it vanished.
Anyone can walk in to this site
The bosses don't seem bothered by the theft at all

We once had an old pupil turn up and sit through a whole lesson without anyone raising any questions (he was there to see his young gf)

We have had so many of these it is scarily unreal.
Intruder reported 2 hours after they had been seen & when it was mentioned to staff to check property another teacher replied "Ohh yes I saw him but was a busy so couldn't report it."
Intruder walks right past a teacher in a corridor with kids, into a faculty office, takes a laptop and walks out. No report until teh teacher whos laptop it is comes to us as she though we may have hidden it for safety. Asked teacher the intruder past what happened & she said it wasn't her job to do security.
Had kids one year go into all the faculty offices after school to catch up on the gossip and made a newsletter as end of term prank. Luckily they didn't know what they were looking for or at so picked up on some really mundane boring stuff.
This is with a security fence and a smattering of CCTV cameras. We keep saying something bad is going to happen but no one seems too worried!

We have CCTV but its only on the outside of the building, but does cover all entrances. We have electronic mag locks, the kind you use a fob to get through. All door access is logged, which is kind of spooky.
However, if someone was to enter the building during lunch time (as some of the mag doors unlock at this time so that kids can exit the building) and they didnt go thru reception they'd have a good chance I suppose. Although all the IT rooms operate on another key fob system, so the most they'd get is a laptop out of a classroom that the teacher 'forgot' to lock.

Before and after school are popular times for people to try it on too, as one would just assume they were a parent and not challenge them.
It is worrying just how easily a total random can walk into most offices and schools, even the ones which people believe to be secure (especially if you instruct the students to hold doors open for visitors!). Consider whether people get into your school before they get challenged, i.e. once they've pressed the buzzer/door-bell, do they get asked who they are before the door is opened to them, or do they come in first and then announce themselves to the receptionist?
The difficult part is finding a suitable balance between slack security which puts people/property at risk and security so tight that legit people can't easily move around and/or prop doors open because its easier.
