    How would you prefer your keyboard and mouse from ICT Direct

    As Many of you know, we at ICT Direct always ship out a new keyboard and mouse combo with our refurbished base units.

    With the price of 3rd party branded peripherals getting higher I would like your feedback as to whether it matters to you and your schools that the brands on the peripherals match the brand on the base unit.

    For example, would it be a problem if were were to ship a new Dell keyboard and mouse with a HP or Lenovo desktop?

    Personally I say it doesn't matter to me (at home, I have a different case brand to my keyboard, and my mouse is a 3rd brand with the monitor being a 4th brand). Also some schools like to buy in bulk one brand of keyboard and mouse to keep them uniform, regardless of PC manufacturer. In short, I have no issue if they dont match

    I only care about mice/keyboards matching if I'm ordering a bulk amount.

    I'm not being responsible for IT lessons going astray because Little Jimmy has a "cooler" mouse/keyboard. [I've actually seen this happen.]

    To clarify, we will always send out identical keyboard and mouse combos for a given order (no matter how large or small), this is just to check if it would bother you that a whole suite of Lenovo desktops had HP keyboards and wyse mice across the board.

    I'm awkward, If they just turned with them then it would definately put me off. I wouldn't send them back but I would consider you a second rate supplier. Unless it was very clear before I ordered them. If I knew what I was getting and you suppiled what I ordered then that's no problem at all. I just don't like surprises when my order arrives.

    When we order new kit it often comes with Microsoft mouse and keyoard. I remember when almost every new PC came with a Cherry keyboard. But if I ordered a dell I wouldn't expect a HP keyboard.

    Refurb is a different matter. I would much rather have a new mis matched keboard than the original one cleaned up. I must echo what others have said though. Make sure they are all the same in bulk orders. I like things just so. If i have a suite and the keyboards are all different it would just annoy me.

    Be upfront, tell people what they are getting and make sure they get just that. It wouldn't put me off placing an order.

    Doesn't matter to us. Heck we replace damaged keyboards in IT suites with what ever is available so some rooms have a mishmash of nice black USB keyboards and grotty old white PS2.
    As long as they work with the kit and the match the rest that are shipped it's all good.

    It would bother me if you sent out HP keyboards (still mostly PS2) with Lenovo M58Ps (no PS2)! Otherwise not an issue here, I'd just swap some around if I didn't like it.

    Seconded. If the PC has 2 PS2 ports, great, send out PS2 kit, but I think for ease of use we'd definitely prefer USB kit if possible

    Hi Dave,

    It would have to be Microsoft 200 Keyboard and mouse for us I'm afraid as that is all we use as there are no fancy buttons to distract the students and they are very robust.

    We have tried others but they never come up to the standard of the Microsoft ones.

    We a little more choosey hehe!
