1 mile or 4 mins in the car to one job
4 miles or 14 mins in the car to the other

mrwITch currently drives for 45 mins but until recently did 75 miles each way, which depending on which site he was going to (faster roads etc) took between 1.5 and 2.5 hours each way every day. It nearly killed him

4 and a half miles - 8 minutes on a 70 mph road. Bump it up to 5 and a half if I stop for a paper/bottle of milk/coffee powder.

5 miles over a nice moor road, barely passing half a dozen cars. 10-12 minutes depending on weather/road conditions due to being steep up and down.

(Unless someone parked badly or won't give way on the 1.8-car-width bridge - quicker to give way than shuffle into the only bit of the curved bridge which can pass 2 cars, but some people are either too arrogant or don't know where reverse is!)

30 miles. 35 minutes in really good traffic (out of term time, or not rush hour), but typically 45-60.

37 miles of muddy, speed camera'd, no-overtaking-opportunities Lincolnshire A road.

Takes an hour, give or take - depends on tractors. Any car I get has a stereo with USB port straight in so I can listen to audiobooks and remain sane.

20,000 miles a year adds up fast as far as your car's lifespan is concerned.
