Downloadable free PDF-DOCX converter (confidential docs)

Can't use the online converters because the documents contain confidential information and the boss doesn't want to upload it to the internet. Fair enough.

I have no idea why it's a .pdf and no idea why it can't stay a .pdf - just been asked to find a way to convert it.

Does anyone have any to recommend? Found a few well-reviewed paid for ones, but I have no dolla' to spend on this.

Does office 2010/13 not have the ability to open and convert PDFs now?

We use Office 2010 here.. There's a 'Save to PDF' option (but I think that's something I installed a while back) but that's a plugin that looks like it only works one-way.. I tried opening PDF's with Word and it won't do it.. Can't find any kind of conversion option, either.

Go into word, open file, change the type drop down to PDF, browse to your file and open and it will ask if you want to convert it.

Save as a PDF is a built in option as well now.

No can do. There's no PDF option in the list.

if its simple enough text and doesnt have masses of graphics / tables in it then, MS onenote can do the OCR, failing that Foxit stuff isnt bad, but it costs for the product

Adobe allows users to convert pdf to word. Anyway, you can try to use the three methods listed in following link,

Ended up upgrading my Office on my machine to Office 2013 (we use 2010 here, something to do with incompatibilities with SIMS, but I don't use SIMS, so it's fine) and the built-in converter did fine.

anyone know of a decent online one? Has multiple text boxes in the PDF too which is rather annoying... but would be really useful to have this PDF in DOCX

Nitro PDF can do this. I went for that over Acrobat for the simple reason that Acrobat is made by Adobe.
