    Helpdesk / Servicedesk Software

    Hi, not sure which forum for this! So move if appropriate etc!

    Need a helpdesk suggestion please...

    Looking for an ITIL Helpdesk, Free, and can e-mail issues in and it automatically create the isssue log number.

    Anyone know of anything? thanks!

    We use Spiceworks, on the whole its good. Its free as well.

    Spiceworks springs to mind, if your policies etc. are set correctly then it can be ITIL compliant

    Oh yeah looked at Spiceworks not to kean to be honest.
    I like the look and feel of Manage Engine ServiceDesk Plus but obviously this costs!

    Service desk plus is free for up to 5 techies. We used it here before HAP+.

    Request Tracker can be crafted to be ITIL compliant. It is a very capable system, free, and infinitely flexible. However, configuration is complex.

    We have Spiceworks installed as an inventory system here and I use its helpdesk to log my work calls whenever I get a chance, would recommend it, but be prepared to have to turn about 90% of its functionality off when using it.

    We couldn't get a Helpdesk off the ground here so just use email: helpdesk@school...

    No worries. We found it overpowered for what we needed and the Helpdesk in HAP+ is simple enough for our staff to love!

    i use spiceworks here got it set up so that the staff only need to email helpdesk@... and they like it as far asim aware do also have a short cut set up on their desktop that goes to the helpdesk portal

    all setup with full email intragation

    It costs $20 for upto 3 'agents' but that goes to charity.
