    These fires can burn for longer than weeks. They are virtually impossible to extinguish

    Apparently they cant use foam as it will cost too much to put it out.. thats what i have heard anyway.

    Ahh NYCC Budget cuts hey I'm sure Mayor Borris has a few thousand Ltrs of it spare given him slashing fire stations here in London.

    Yeah, it seems to died down now. There was still a smell in the air last week but no smoke. Apparently they said it was under control last week.
