In honour of this man's great life and dedication to entertaining, I will be calling everyone Dave for the rest of the day.

I've been re-watching Only Fools these past few weeks and forgot how highly entertaining and re-watchable it really is. Trigger was up there as one of the best characters. Same goes for his role of Owen in Vicar of Dibley.

We just got the Vicar DVDs and have been watching them (even last night). An excellent deadpan comedic actor, great timing too

Very sad to hear that lost my Grandad to pancreatic cancer at the beginning of last year.

Massively saddened to hear this, the guy was an awesome actor with impeccable timing and great expressions. Another one flies off to the Nags Head in Heaven.

Well, I can't go calling Dave Dave can I

I know this whole thing is horribly typecast of the poor fellow, but I think it's rather fetching just how many have taken to him. Such an effect he's had. The writing may have been Sullivan's in this case but I don't think anyone else could have carried Trigger so perfectly. I never really took to Vicar on it's first run, I may re-watch all of them if I can find a boxset
