    Computing framework

Slightly random question... Does anyone have an example framework for the new computing curriculum that they wouldn't mind sharing?

The one from our LEA hasn't been done yet and the co-ordinators aren't having a meeting about it until AFTER BETT.

I wanted to go through it and see what sort of things have to be taught, so I can see what is available at BETT and get a head start on sorting out software. [THEY aren't going to tell me what they need, before they need it.]

I've got a few bits and pieces from the LEA about it, but it doesn't go into too much detail.

I run a lunchtime club with the head of IT. I'll ask what information she has when I see her today.

Had a chat with the Head of IT at lunch and she has sent me to CAS. I found a whitepaper here but it is dated March 2012. http://www.computingatschool.org.uk/...20and%20IT.pdf

Might be other stuff of use on the site. That's where our HoIT got her framework from.

On that note...I noticed hacking is covered in security. How will we teach the kids to secure websites against SQL Injection for example without the moral dilemma of teaching them SQL Injection! :O

There is no moral dilemma unless you are of the "security through obscurity" school. I think it would be wise to teach something about the computer misuse act as part of acceptable use and eSafety. Students should be aware that unauthorised use of someone computer system may well be a criminal offence.
