Anyone else a grumpy git this Christmas?
Got asked if I planned to put a Christmas screensaver up this year as it's normally up by now.
I tend to do it for every occasion like Christmas/haloween etc.
I never get any feedback about it so said I'm not going to bother this time when someone asked. Then told I was a grumpy git lol (jokingly).
Apparently they all love it.
I'm really not in a cheerful mood at the minute, if my name was Scrooge I was be visited by the ghosts I think.

I am in an awful mood for this Christmas, however it has been made better by some on here.

The mother in law is coming for the week and I'd be dreading it but I'm b*ggering off to Portugal on Boxing Day on my own. Already got some invites to parties. Just hope the Easyjet pilot's strike doesn't affect me.

I've put up my Christmas wallpaper in both schools - it's the only celebratory change I make all year. I have heard the odd "ohh that's nice" but only a couple have actually told me how nice it is. I actually believe that some of them don't know it was me

It's hard to be grumpy when the kids start at 3 months in my school. Christmas is marked by the Nativity play, the Christmas Fair, the Carol Service and an no arguments belief in Santa... it's probably against the Code of Conduct to fail to believe.
Yesterday, I had some 3 year old representatives of the the Pre School proudly come up to my office with a calendar with a heavily glittered picture of a robin as a present for me. I love it

Maybe the wallpaper needs to say"Merry Christmas. Love from @witch" subtly in the corner to drop the hint. I'd do it.

No I am the one annoying everyone else with my festive cheer.
Could be working in a primary school, the kids are so excited and there's so much chritsmassy stuff going on it just rubs off on you!

I think you are right @sparkeh... Primary schools restore your faith in Christmas as a celebration. Even Year 6 can usually be persuaded not to spoil it for the littlest ones

I didn't bother with a Christmas wallpaper (couldn't think of a decent way to modify our standard one in time - I will by next year!), but feel pretty Christmassy regardless (and I work in a secondary school)!

Not me this year. Which makes a change for the guy with a Mr Grumpy mug. I have my Santa monitor surround and my Boba Fett snowflakes up at work. Not got owt at home but I'm going away for Xmas so it's kinda pointless.

Christmas IS a load of tosh. Once was a religious celebration - although I've always had great doubts about the 'immaculate conception' Nowadays it's just yet another occasion for commercial organisations to rake as much cash off folk who in many cases don't have the cash to be fleeced of in the first place. I notice that despite this wonderful Government's statements of clamp downs the pay day lenders with their huge interest rates are advertising even more heavily.

I'm not normally a grumpy git ... I put the lights up outside the flat and make the Christmas cake and several dozen mince pies and generally look forward to the festive time. This year though will be the first one on my own so haven't really bothered at all. CBA to make a cake, have made some mince pies for friends and family and written a few cards out but that's it for me this year. The first solo Christmas and can't decide whether I'm looking forward to it or not.
