Ay, I'm going to be eating, sleeping, and drinking hand gel until the end of term.

That's the upside of waking up at lunch time.

By the time I'm bored, people are home so I can annoy them.

No! No! A duvet day is for when you are having "a mental health day" (aka sickie). If your off work with genuine illness, you should be working from home, which I'm doing today. This might sound crazy, but healthy days off should be for yourself (bit like a weekend).

I kind of get what you mean. Although it does depend how bad you are. I struggle to work at home, i'm easily distracted by shiny things.

As mental health issues are becoming more acknowledged, I wonder if that's actually a legitimate reason to take PAID sick leave...

I had Tuesday off. Stopped the Day and night Nurse that day, and apart from tissues, hopefully I will have a relaxing few days off next week.

WTF? If you're sick, you're sick. You should not be working at all. If I'm off work with the flu, I'll be in bed sleeping it off thankyou very much. When I was signed off work after an operation last year, it took me a week to get over the anesthetic then another to get my energy back. There was no way in hell I was going to be working then

While having a good overall level of health can improve one's resistance to disease, whether or not you are infected with flu, say, has very little to do with whether or not you 'think healthy'.

I just wish the UK adopted the Japanese practice of wearing face masks if they go out in public with a cough or similar. Also it would be far more sensible if 'management' showed a greater tolerance to staff (and students) taking a sick day when they have infect us colds - conversely that some staff didn't abuse that situation where it exists.

Yes... because we need to become Quarians [from Mass Effect] and have no immune system.

There is a horrible virus going around this school just now, sore heads that last days and generally feeling lethargic. Mine started on Monday :-(
