    Schoolkid reviews schools IT Provision

Found this video on youtube. Is American schoolkid reviewing the Lenovo X131e that they got to take home. What's more interesting is he goes on to review the schools use of Google Apps and Zenworks and the MIS and VLE platforms his school district use.

I like the look of these x131e notebooks. Anyone know the price in the uk? Are they available?

They've been available for over a year, we got a trolley of them in Summer 2012. We paid £520+VAT for Core i3's with SSDs back then; don;t know what the pricing now would be.

Isn't the X140e meant to be the newer version of the X131e?

Saw the Lenovo X131e at BETT 2013. It is a robust machine. You can get them cheaper with spinning disk HDD of course.

We have a trolley of X131e (AMD powered) with SSDs. They're good machines; tough, quick enough (not fast!) and portable. A few now need keyboards but sadly that's often the case with laptops. AFAIK they're impossible to source in the UK now, the X140e should arrive early next year and the A4-5000 should whip the old Zacate E-350.

The track pads on those lenovos are awful. The buttons are on the top which makes them very hard to use.
