    Youtube error has occurred

Does anybody else intermittently have this problem with youtube, the video wont load you just get an error message saying "an error has occurred please try again later" ?

We seem to be getting in more and more at the moment, youtube is whitelisted in our firewall and our download speed is good so I am not sure what it could be. We are on ie 9, could it be a problem with the browser?

Plug a pair of speakers in and restart IE

We had this issue with the generic graphics\sound driver updated to the specific driver all sorted.

As above, make sure headphone or speakers are plugged in before opening internetz

If your driver has an auto detect for the front jacks then disable it, it will allow flash to play.

Thanks! I didn't think to look at a sound related issue, il have a look at the drivers and speakers to try to resolve it

Use chrome or plug speakers/headphones in.

Have you got googlevideo.com unblocked in your firewall too? Youtube sometimes uses that URL.

I have just added that URL to the white list, hopefully that sorts it. Just need to find a minute to test that and the sound fix out now

Indeed, the audio driver/output situation was causing us some headaches with many customers thinking there was a filtering issue.

The worst part about it is that the 'error' is so useless - if a video won't play due to not detecting an output I wish it would say so! 'Tis a bit like the Sophos Intelligent Web tool - doesn't actually tell you when it's blocking a site or indeed why leaving it to you to try to work out what's wrong.
