I ask the pupils and staff to design a Christmassy desktop background, new one each day. Some great, some awful, but the look on some of their faces when theirs gets used is fantastic - one difficult child was in a good mood all day because I used his design.

Intranet page will go up next week with the javascript snowflakes and special Xmas banner that reveals more if you're on a higher resolution screen (set as a background pinned to the left of the screen):

    (click to embiggen, obv)

Tinsel will go up Monday. Our RAM wreath fell apart

Forgot I needed to do a Xmas background though - that'll occupy me for the next half an hour before hometime

Anyone know of an easy way to have desktop snow? A simple little program that can run in the background and gently snow over the desktop would be nice. I'd write one myself but my programming abilities aren't up to it.

I thought the 'elf and safety do-gooders had banned christmas items in schools?
Or has that policy been strung up with some rather chafing tinsel?

Anyway, here in our Uni office - someone has erected something that vaguely resembles a christmas tree...
