840 Pro fan here. I'm my PC at home, at work, home laptop, work laptop. Have had SSDs from the old OCZ 64GB drives and none of them are as good as the Samsung 840s.

Mmmm the 1tb version is only £449, tempting to replace my NAS drives with that!

After 3 failed drives at work within 2 months there is a reason the crucial ones are cheap. Thankfully we make everyone save everything to the servers and have exchange so nothing was lost, but still a massive hassle.

I'd say pay an extra tenner and get a Sandisk model: SanDisk SDSSDP-128G-G25 128GB SATA 6GB/s 2.5 Inch Internal SSD: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Or an extra 2 quid and get a Kingston model: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A1ZTZOG

Or an extra £40 and get an intel

Prices are dropping fast all over the place. I remember when it was more than £1 a GB not too long ago!

Wow. Didn't notice that! Good job we standardised on Sandisk here!

Looks like they're trying to encourage you to spend another £10 and buy into their Hyper-X range.

The Samsung Evo would be first choice at the present time.
