That wasn't Rose or even Bad Wolf Rose. It was something that The War Doctor could relate to created from his memories.

So is John Hurt technically #9 now? Even if not with him and the double Tennant regeneration surely the Doctor is dead at the end of Capaldi?
If you've seen "The Night of The Doctor", then you would have seen the 8th doctor regenerate into the war doctor/warrior. As John Hurt's regeneration doesn't call himself The Doctor then the numbering system still counts for future regeneration's, as by not referring to himself as The Doctor, the War Doctor is a completely different person (from what I've read).

Why would it give the image of rose when he hadn't of met her yet?

It explained that in the episode. She was a memory out of his future. Which made him sit up and think as he didn't expect to have a future.

    Awesome, awesome, awesome episode!
Who cares about the history stuff, its always get resolved some way or another.

    Fave bits:
    1. Seeing the 13 Doctors converge to work together. Genius.
    2. Tom Baker as The Curator. What a legend.

I am looking forward to seeing Peter Capaldi as The Doctor, that 1 second shot of him eyeballing us was enough to get excited

Doctor Who is in a really good place at the moment and I can see it just getting better.

I look forward to having an older Dr Who...will be interesting. Nicely done the way they used old footage to show all Drs.

Apparently how Peter Capaldi's Doctor will look hasn't been decided yet: Even though filming starts in January:

Heh, did you see the Ultimate Doctor Who guide after? (A rather bitter) Colin Baker related how they asked him what costume he wanted and he asked for something like Christopher Ecclestone. They then have him that ridiculous coat instead :-)

That costume didn't do him any harm. Tom Baker is one of the most popular doctors.

The time travel of the Doctor solves so many problems... what has been said about the number of regenerations, etc is easily solved by going back in time!
