Funny how at the end of the article they offer a free report to guide you through the impending crisis along with 3 free issues of the magazine. You just have to sign up and remember to cancel within your 3 week trial.

There's another article that debunks it and shows up some of their graphs as being a bit ropey, ultimately it's a fear-driven sales tool for the magazine but at the same time the only people raking it in are the banks and those who run them.

I personally think there is allot of truth in the article. I have been saying to people for a while that debt is still out of control, even under austerity, and its mostly unchallenged like its all part of the plan. I think the country is just treading water atm and the next ripple on the horizon could turn out to be the wave that tips the boat.

I think I will be spending my retirement in another country if im honest.

Seems odd that a magazine about money doesn't distinguish between debt and deficit, neither does it relate debt to per capita

And neither are the graphs inflation adjusted - I think beer was 12p a pint in the 1970s at my student union - to put some scale on the change in value.

Also - these people were flyering me last year with their report on gold prices and why I should invest everything into gold as the price was going to soar way over $2000 per ounce - its lost about $300 since then down to around $1250 - glad I didn't follow their expert opinions.

However - there definitely is a debt problem and one that the currently reinflated housing bubble is not helping with
