Sounds like you've done much better with it than we did in Cheshire, where the average starting salary is more like £21K for that role!

(I should add that we were a very early adopter around the 2005 kind of mark...)

Yes you sound like you've done better than Birmingham. That job title ranges from £18k to £23k.

Is there a pattern here: LAs adopting Single Status later rather than earlier have done a rather better job of it?

We're still waiting for our letters. Apparently they were posted out yesterday second-class recorded delivery. This was supposed to happen last week but we were told 'there was a delay in processing the letters for our school'. So now I have to hang around for the postie again this Saturday so the damn thing doesn't get bounced back to the sorting office.

Are you joking me? That is ridiculous to send it recorded delivery! I have never heard anything so (insert choice word here) before! People aren't all just hanging around at home all weekend! Mine is held back for 'quality analysis' and should have been here yesterday according to our bursar. Have been told elsewhere it should have been posted yesterday, second class. After all these delays, when most of the county have their letters, they are still posting second class. My colleagues have theirs and it is really frustrating for me to still be waiting. All we heard for months and months was that they would be posted on 1st November. Now it is the 14th...

Is Derby an autonomous council then? Because @mulderite is in Derbyshire and it affects him

I think Kevin may have been replying to the mention of the later the council implemented S.S. the better pay the workers got. (Maybe not though!) - Although, what is Derby City Council? I feel like I have heard of that.

Derby City Council is completely separate to Derbyshire Country Council

Not heard any news about Single Status here - but were are an academy so do not know if it affects us or not?

Which part of Cheshire? Over in the West you're looking at much more:

    Runcorn: £32,072 – £36,676
IT / Network Manager, Sandymoor School, Runcorn.

    Chester: £28,127 - £31,160
Strategic ICT Manager Upton-by-Chester High School

    Wirral: £28000 - £30000
Can't find link, but it was St Anselm's college for boys posted last month

And Caldy school had a network manager position late last year for at least £30k.

I imagine NOR, sixth form etc. all have impact on pay as well.

Our staff who were on quality assurance haven't received letters today. Upon calling county they were told they hadn't been sent yet and they didn't know when they will be.

Makes me proud to be from Derbyshire when you see this level of cocking up!
