Salary Sacrifice Schemes for IT / mobile devices for your staff
Does anyone run salary sacrifice schemes for their staff at school for computer devices / mobiles? We are getting a few companies offer us these schemes that work the same as cycle to work scheme but for tech. Like this one Salary sacrifice employee benefit
Just wondered if anyone was running one and how it was working? Was it a lot of work to set up or for your finance team?

I have been contacted in regards one of these schemes from a supplier I use frequently but looking through the detail it doesn't seem that cheap for staff and looks a bit complex and confusing for staff in regards to if staff leave and by adding the Insurance cost to devices it doesn't seem that cheap but someone from the company is going to talk to us about it and I'll let you know how I get on if it is any clearer.

I suggest you ask them (I have vague memories only) about the pension implications. Does the sacrificed salary still count for pension contributions?

I think it doesn't affect pensions - as the employee is being paid the same amount, just a small amount of it is taken off them before their wages even hit the bank. Not too sure though.
Also - I misread the title of this thread as something to do with sacrificing staff for IT kit... You can imagine my disappointment.
All I want is a new laptop...

Salary sacrifice *can* be a pain for payroll/finance to set up - depends on the sacrifice. And yes, it can effect pension and other statutory payments.
You should talk to HR too as, if set up correctly, requires contract changes.
