Spiders should not be killed unless possibly they are black widows or red funnels and are going for the throat!
Good god woman! Don't let them go near Dibbler! He'll be making "Black Widow Mincemeat Pies" for Hogswatch!

I'm deathly allergic to wasps so have a good reason for doing the "wasp dance" I try not to have to kill them either
The wife is a keen shot with a tea towel when it comes to wasps so I leave that pleasure to her whilst I perform the Wasp Dance

We have lots of the false funnel web spider in my garden. @Sunny how much do you charge to come and electrocute the little buggers or is it just a hobby you will do for free?

My wife can seem to speak wasp and will ask them to leave the house. Oddly they always do.

Not to dig up an old thread or anything but here is an article that might allay a few fears, and hopefully a few spiders will now survive: Guest Post: The False Scourge of the False Widow | The Elwell Press

The description made me die of laughter, glad I wasn't attempting to drink anything or eat anything for that matter !!
