I hate grey wet days but I love white snowy ones. I am hoping we get more snow as it makes everything look different and prettier, plus it sows utter chaos over the entire country!

I adore Canada. A lake freezing sounds like an excellent opportunity to ice skate and if I lived in the Rockies I'd ski all winter! I've been there in Summer too and it's lush. In fact, I'd love to live in Canada.

Are we talking 'start more northerly than we finish' or 'start more northerly than say Brighton'? Because it makes a big difference!

I think the point is - it's bloody cold in Iceland (unless you're standing next to a volcano, of course).

Agreed. At that point one side would be chilly and the other side crispy-fried..

Love it to be cold and snowy. Not much chance of that though - too close to the coast here. We don't even get snow when there is snow 5 miles away inland.
It's still quite warm here - 17 degrees - and very humid. Mind you, I only notice that when doing a stupidly energetic cardio interval class

Must be autumn time, due to the adverse weather conditions today my train to work was running late (yet my TfL service was running fine as usual) so that must be the special leaves on the line slowing the Greater Anglia service down to London!

Grey wet days where you never see the sun really get me down. I haven't got SAD, but it definitely affects me.
For example, here in 'Sunny Devon' I haven't seen the wretched thing for at least five days.

I live about 15 miles north of you and 400 feet higher and I can confirm that when I get snowed in, my parents who are still in Dorset think I'm pulling their legs...

Yep, makes a refreshing change from that special kind of sun on the line slowing the Greater Anglia service down to London

I personally won't be happy until I goto work in Bermuda shorts and pass palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze. Get a move on global warming!
