I know Open Office can be run from a network share, but how successful/reliable is it?
For example how wool it handle it if 100/150 users were to access it at once?
Does anyone use it this way or do you deploy it or add it to an image?

Because its coded using bloaty rubbish java- it will probably hit your network quite hard if 100+ users at a time.
I would deploy it - it runs slow enough coming off a nice fast hard drive!
Andrew

to speed change these settings and put in your mandatory profile, also start with -nofirststartwizardI would deploy it - it runs slow enough coming off a nice fast hard drive!
a quick compare of sizes gives~:
OpenOffice.org portable (network share) 180 MB
openOffice.org installed 270MB
Office 2000 (clipart) 340MB
Office 2003 269 MB
Also disabling Java helps
Where do i put this?also start with -nofirststartwizard
Edit the shortcut paths?
I would like to add this Open Office ideally on a image but because they all have mandatory profiles they always get the wizard at programme launch.
Will the above stop this?

yep.Where do i put this?
Edit the shortcut paths?
If you're using this method you'll also need to change the image so that the file extension opens with the -nofirststartwizard switch ( I did using the ftype command http://www.mkssoftware.com/docs/man1/ftype.1.asp )
or use the openoffice portable.
