    Old Promethean boards

    Over the summer we have replaced 8 Promethean boards and as soon as I get back I have to organise Promethean coming to pick up the old ones. It occurred to me that someone local to me might know of an organisation that could use them. They are the old ones - approx 8 years old? Not sure if they kept the pens - probably not - but the boards all worked when removed. I would love them to go to a charity or somewhere but I need them to be picked up the first week of term. We go back on Sept 4th.
    You never know, one of you Dorset/Hants/Wilts/Devon guys might know of someone who could use them

    So, noone knows of a charity or anything that might want them. I found the pens, too
    Seems SUCH a waste

    It is a depressing waste. I know I could use them - the old serial boards work fine with Windows 7 x64 as I have a few that age. The problem is their sheer bulk for moving. Can you try phoning some other primaries around the area (I know you support some of them anyway, but might be worth a pop). Many primaries are desperate for equipment.

    If I was closer I would definitely take them. We have 10 year old Smartboards in every classroom and I'm dreading the day they die. It's about 3 years' budget to replace them

    What about a local Scout group? I know of a group that installed one for teaching etc.

    Failing that what about halls etc that want to put up screen for projectors?

    I have asked around and all the schools here are OK it seems. These boards are pretty old but they have worked well over the years.
    If anyone else thinks of anything, please let me know

    @Miscbrah
    They are in the boiler room not causing any trouble and they can stay there if you could confirm that you could pick them up in the future. My boss is keen that they go to a deserving cause

  10. Thanks to witch from:

    I think they might be older still - I seem to remember the same ones in my previous school 11 years ago. But as I said, they do work. No cables though
    Let me know as soon as you know whether you can get them or not. Are you a long way away?

    Hi - not miles away; we're in Brighton. Away from the school site for a bit but can definitely get an answer early next week.

    If you find a worthy cause in the mean time or someone can get them earlier really don't hold on to them for my sake.

    @Miscbrah
    The boss is happy to hold on to them as long as he knows they are really going in the nearish future - so let me know as soon as you can next week - that would be great.
    I will need some giant chocolate buttons though
