I'm trying to add a new job template to an existing job but when I create a new template the job that is create is done so with the naming combination of the selection list name, policy name, and template name. All I want is the template name (which is how the others are listed) but I can't see where I am entering the settings any different to what is already there. If I try and edit the properties of the job it tells me I can't alter them when the job is created by a policy so it must be something I'm doing when I set it up.
The process I used was import template>Edit settings & Rename to create a new template>Save. But the job that is created is done with a full name.
The version I am using is 2010 R3
Just in case anyone else needs it I found this...
To rename a job that was created from a policy
1 On the navigation bar, click Job Setup.
2 Under Jobs, right-click the policy-created job that you want to rename.
3 Click Rename.
4 Type the new name in the Name field, and then click OK.
The problem I had was that I was looking in the wrong tab and it didn't have the option to rename...clicked on the right one and there it was. Yup I do feel a bit stupid how something so simple could stump me for so long...
