I tried it but found I missed too many of my Firefox addons, it rendered some pages faster than both IE and FF but in all honesty we're talking about less than a second a page.
My personal preference is:
Firefox > Safari (Mac) > Opera > I.E. 6 >anything else I can find > I.E. 7

I've been using it since the days when it had adverts in the top corner (unless you paid for it).
Indeed, I too remember those days, I had a really early version running on an old 486 laptop and using a 28 baud modem it was much quicker than Netscape / IE - [ IE I think was ver 3 ish and netscape was ver 2 !! ] - How times move on !!!!!I've been using it since the days when it had adverts in the top corner

I prefer FF, can't get used to how different Opera works and I love my FF extensions.
As a web developer I do have it installed though for testing.
opera for me

I have actualy got all three installed. IE for RM cruddymail, Opera for most stuff and Firefox is configured on the filtered proxy.
FireFTP and Adblock extensions alone are enough to keep me using Firefox for now.
I use Opera at home. I started at Opera 7 (I actually paid for it), went over to Firefox when at around the time eight was released (It didn't support NTLM proxy authentication which I needed when we installed an ISA server at work). Then 9 was released and I just realised that I was trying to get FF to work like Opera as much as possible so I went back to Opera.
No regrets so far.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but to me the way I see it is techies etc tend to use Opera / Firefox & your Joe Average user favor IE.....
I don't think I have ever used IE for any long period of time for my main browser - its just there for test reasons.....
I think any advanced user with a broadband connection at home will use Firefox over I.E. but many, like my parents prefer I.E. simply because it's what they're use to.
It's part of the problem that the Linux and Apple OS's have, people are simply in a comfort zone with a specific browser or OS and don't see any point in changing, however all browsers are becoming more and more alike, just as OSs are.
Mac OSX and Vista are very similar, now because one stole from the other but because they've been pinching ideas from each other for years. They'll always try to make out they're vastly different but ultimately they're not really.
Firefox stands out to me because of the huge number of handy extensions, I don't use themes much though. It's only a matter of time until I.E. has something similar (probably called I.E. Widgets).
Opera here too. Cant wait for 9.5!!![]()
Yep - long term Opera user - its great! Specially now they've got the option to have Bookmarks folders displaying properly again after they took it out a while ago.
I use opera too, but it has some downs for me, eg. using it with Karpesky it disables the links from my results in Yahoo Images. :./
In the Linux world I use Opera v7.54 - I did try Opera v8 but went back to v7 as there is an image resizing bug in v7 that I like. When you opeate at say 120% magnification, which we oldies like to do, the text is increased but the images are the original size. For flash pages, I use Firefox simply because flash is handled better in Firefox. For speed I use either Dillo or Lynx. I also reguarly use Konqueror and Seamonkey. I too have been using Opera since the advert days; of course under Linux it was easy to configure your system so these ads wouldn't display. In the M$ world, I exclusively use Firefox and before that Netscape. I haven't used IE since v5.
