    Holograms Anybody?

Though in the early stages, this Kickstarter project promises that they will eventually be able to offer me an immersive 'Holodeck' experience!

I'm reserving judgment until I see something more than an advert in a box.

A long time ago, I did some Hand-drawn Holograms. That's right - holography without lasers, mostly because I couldn't afford to buy a laser.

There's a lot of people calling bull on this one. Check the comments on the kickstarter page.

A holodeck uses a mix of projection, advanced computer simulation and replicators. Once they invent the ability to generate solid objects and edible food out of thin air then they can claim holodeck.

(That in turn requires the ability to create transporters which replicators are derived from and the sheer time it'd take to move a complex object has already been ruled out as current speeds would require the entire lifetime of the universe for one transfer).

    Proper holodeck or bust!

(Just as long as they don't build it to Ferengi spec with a spatula).
