    Well said!

However, isn't the point more about if you want to use it and being abused...

I do like it how there has to be 'easier reporting features' available... always it has to be a big red button so large it fills half the screen... because current reporting facilities are too hard to find/use???

So if a bloke on twitter tells a woman he's going to rape her, it's her fault and she should not use twitter?
So if a bloke in a pub tells a woman he's going to rape her, it's her fault and she should not go in a pub?
So if a bloke in the street tells a woman because she's wearing a short skirt he's going to rape her, it's her fault and she should cover up?
    Shall I continue?????

Not sure how the old tools were hard to find. I've used them before - just go to the idiot's profile, click the little icon and click report?

Edit: ah, that's just spam. They should add a general report button in the same place.

Not quite sure the point of this thread from you matt.

It's not a case of if you don't like it don't use it especially when someone was threatened with rape via it please take your bigotted views and keep them to yourself.

Maybe I should have said something along the lines of if you are going to post something on twitter that you may know may cause a reaction from bigotted morons, don't expect not to have at least some backlash. Then when the press gets involved you know its going to get worse.
If after all that you don't agree, don't like, are getting concerned, report it and then delete the account.
I cannot understand people who complain about something that they actually have control over in regards to not having to either do it, read it, or be part of it. If you don't like football do you watch it or play it ? If you don't like taking a bath, do you still continue to have a bath [ yes I know these are rather stupid and extreme points ] but if you have an element of control over something you don't like or feel threatened by, don't do it !!
Its like me saying I hate being stung by bees, but I continue to be a bee keeper or I hate working in IT [ I do and its a well known fact ] but I continue to do so but within the areas I control over.
Don't give out personal information over the internet if there is the slightest chance of some idiot abusing it or you. Use a bit of common, although over the last 10 years or so this seems to be lacking from a great deal of people....

So what you're saying is women shouldn't wear short skirts if they don't want to be raped. It's the same sentiment.

Someone, no matter what their gender, should be able to express an opinion without threat of rape and other horrendous acts.

Saying "don't say things to provoke those reactions' is ridiculous.

Are we saying that because it's possible to report misuse of a service, such misuse becomes "by the by"?

We might as well be saying that because you can report rape, you don't really need to worry about it.

Unfortunately in India and the UAE, it is always the woman's fault.

I just wish they'd stop calling the backlash "trolling"... It isn't. It's just being a [censored].

    Trolling is a art.

Are you suggesting those that abuse move on or those that are being abused?
