Apparently our LEA don't hold standard Job Descriptions as they treat each one uniquely :S So there goes that idea.

Any suggestions what else i could do to take it when i see the head just so i could say something like "I have been looking at what a network manager does and feel i do the same role here"

    Cheers

So...they don't have any sort of description for a network manager? Seems very odd to me! Yes, you could say that - in my experience (cringes before the shouting..) a NM has responsibility for someone- our LA doesnt get the manage part relating to a network, as well as a budget. Those were the two things that stopped me getting it - but I did get Senior Tech.
Any network managers jobs going in the same LA. Do you know any NMs who would happily share their job description?

Apparently not. That's what they said anyway.

There is a NM I know but he is very good friends with one of our assistant deputy heads so I think if I asked him regardless of what he said it might get back to the school before I officially say anything to the head teacher.

    Hmm
Not an easy thing to do. I think identifying the extra work you do compared with when you started is a good starting point?

What about trying to find some job descriptions on here or on recruitment sites?

Could you do a freedom of information request from a generic email account? As I understand it the school has to give you that information just word it like you are asking lots of schools and make it clear you do not want names, wages or to use the data for Business.

But you can't make anon FOI's you have to include contact details etc.

When making your request, you should include:
    your name
an address where you can be contacted
a detailed description of the recorded information you want
    etc. https://www.gov.uk/make-a-freedom-of...an-foi-request

So not sure that would work unless you're happy for them to know who you are?

    Steve
