    I love a simple solution

I'm the first into school each morning and when I open up there is a code-locked door from the entrance area into the office. It is now too dark to see the code buttons and the light switch is the other side of the door. I don't want to carry a torch in my pocket along with the other junk, so I asked the Site Manager if he could fit a small light. He suggested using the backlight on my phone. It works a treat even with my ancient Nokia 3310.

Blimey you get in early - what hours do you work?

My 8310 was the best phone I ever had.

If you upgrade to one with a camera flash mate you can often use that as a torch in the options.

Or get one of those single button cell led torches that attach to your keys, very handy.

Or tell the site manager to stop being a lazy arse and get up earlier to unlock?

Or get in at bang on the time you're supposed to start, which for me is 8:30am

    Bang on?

I'm always on time too. Between 8 and 8.30am.

Re: I love a simple solution

I start at about 7am most mornings although recently it's been a two hour commute so even though I'm up at 6am I'm not in until nearly 9am!

I take a while to get going in the morning, usually about 45mins before I'm out the door. The cats wouldn't forgive me if I didn't feed them first.. and the fiancee wouldn't forgive me if I didn't bring her fresh filter coffee in bed!

hah, I love the complete irrelevance of this entire thread.

I read the first post and just thought 'why?'
