    symantecrenewals.com?

Had an email today from renewals@symantecrenewals.com:

    Dear Customer,

Our records show your Symantec maintenance contract will expire soon. Renewing ensures you will continue to receive the latest software updates and access to technical support. Please be sure to have your renewal ID: AAA111-111-111 to hand when placing your order.
I click on the link which takes me to symantecrenewals.com - It looks a bit fishy to me, I've just taken over from the NM this week so I'm not 100% when it expires but this site just looks dodgy?

    What does everyone think?

symantec_elicensing@symantec.com is the one that we get emails from. Not sure if there are others, but wouldn't go with it Ring Symantec if you're nto sure.

Although saying that, looking at a few of our primary schools it seems they get emails from that email link when they buy symantec through a 3rd party. Looks like it's a portal the 3rd party can log in, and send a quote to yourselves for it.

But unless you know you actually order from them, I wouldn't buy it still

If in doubt contact the vendor directly by visiting their website yourself or ringing them without following anything on the mail. Phishing sites are becoming ever more technical, I myself recently had a very convincing GW2 shutdown notice land in my inbox so I opened the launcher and noticed my account was tied to my other E-Mail address. Scam mail busted!

You could always try registering at my.symantec.com and logging a support call. They will investigate what licenses you currently have and when they expire.

Got to the bottom of it, seems it is just spam as we get our licenses elsewhere!

If unsure look up the domain owner for a clue:

    Domain name: SYMANTECRENEWALS.COM
    Created on: 2009-06-12
    Updated on: 2013-06-25

    Expires on: 2015-07-22
    Registrant Name: ASPIRE TECHNOLOGY
    Contact: Aspire Technology
Registrant Address: 107 Mortlake High Street, Mortlake
    Registrant City: London
    Registrant Postal Code: SW14 8HQ

Doesn't look much like Symantec to me....
