Hmm. The job description is really for a network manager. I am a systems manager and usually the role involves the running and planning for multiple networks and systems, often disparate. I could add 3 times the amount to that list.

Job Description tends to differ from actual work done!
Usually network managers and techies alike get asked to deal with pretty much anything that has a plug on it.

@FN-Greatermanchester:
Not to put too finer point on it once you do get permanent employment (and i wish you all the best) i would not go around slagging NMs off as most are very hard working sometimes pretty stressed out guy's who are taken for granted most of the time.

Well yeah. We have to. We're the ones that get stressed at when jobs arent done, or done correctly. The word manager in the title is a bit of a clue. I have a habit of never shouting at my techies or asking them to do something that i wouldn't / couldn't do, and i'm the one that backs them up when people complain or when suppliers mess us about.
The job of a NM / SM isnt necessarily 9-5 or even 8 - 4; i start at 8 each morning and am often here til 6. Much later if there is an event on, figured it out the other week that i do an average of 45 hours a week. Considering "Single Status" is coming in soon and based on 37.5 hours per week, it should be interesting.
Having read some of your previous posts I'm sure you weren't having a go but.......

That was a very funny episode. But its typical of the support team to just say 'did you try and restart the computer?'...it works every time (well almost)
