Wasn't he already quoted that he had no plans to do it? Seeming as he's reached Hollywood status and all.

Yep. Plus he's Sherlock, can't see him being in both.

It needs to be an up and coming actor....and a male, i'm sorry it has to be a male.

I'm all for feminism, but sometimes feel it would be better off concentrating on issues other than what sex the bloomin' Doctor is going to be!

I vote BoJo as next Doctor anyway...

Chuck Norris. However I've heard he can time travel without a Tardis. He round-house kicks a hole in the fabric of space time.

In that list...Danny Dyer? Seriously? What the hell? He would go around headbutting the bad guys and pretend to be a hardman!

Colin Salmon has agreed to do Season 2 of Arrow and signed up for season 3 if it got renewed that far, so he is out of the equation

Rowan Atkinson would be a good one, as would Lenny Henry.

Out of all of the others, Chewetel Ejiofor would be my choice

    Spoiler [?]

Link: The Independent [Ireland] is reporting that the role has been offered and the BBC are waiting for a reply [Report is unconfirmed at the moment]

    From The Independent's report:

...When he was asked about rumours linking him with the Doctor Who role in April, he admitted that he had never watched the programme. I think Im being used as a decoy on that front, he said. Its the first Ive heard....

Exciting times. I just hope we don't get the rinse & repeat reaction of all the fans of "Oh he'll be rubbish!" - people thought DT was going to be crap when he was announced - turned out to make a huge impact and everybody misses him, people thought MS was going to be SEVERELY crap when he was announced, turned out to make a huge impact yet again and everybody is sad that he's leaving. I can't process the logic of slating an actor doing a role before the first episode is even broadcasted, but maybe that's me. So as long as those whiners bugger off during the announcement then I'll be happy!

Who do we reckon it'll be then?

Capaldi could work, although I think he'd fit better as the Master or a Sherlock Holmes-type character than the Doctor.

Then again, I believe the bookies and papers were totally wrong about Matt's appointment, so who knows? (hehe... 'Who' knows? Geddit? )

Seriously can you imagine the BBC giving Capaldi Dr Who? When all the kiddie winks go on YouTube to look at Dr Who's other roles?!

Like this: best of malcolm tucker - YouTube

"...what we would call violent sexual imagery..."

Sadly it just wouldn't be proper.

Malcolm likes sci-fi. Surely that counts for something?

Peter Capaldi has already appeared in Doctor Who: The Fires of Pompeii [which also featured an early appearance by Karen Gillan as a soothsayer]
