Hi everyone,
I have now got to a stage where my newly set up Asterisk based phone system is running 99% reliably (with a few glitches based on the hardware used). Would people like me to invest some time in creating a how to? It was quite a long, complex process working out all the little glitches and bugs, so I imagine others may like to know if they are thinking about it themselves.
That'd be great!
I am sure it would be a valuable resource to many people if you did a how to.

if you would, I am going to play around with asterisk now but already run into problems with installation.

I shall dig out all my random notes and have a go then.
It isn't based on trixbox or anything though, it is a barebones Ubuntu based system. I found it much easier to ensure everything is how I wanted it.

cheers let us know how you get on

@localzuk: If you could stick it on the wiki at http://edugeekwiki.rm-charlton.net it would be good... you will see there are already some Linux HOWTOs.
Asterisk..that's my day job. All day I configure and install Asterisk.
Trixbox is OK and very easy to install and to get running.
Looking at AsteriskNow (http://www.asterisknow.org/), beta seem good but it only support Digium cards out of the box or ISO as in this case.
I highly recommend Digium cards for ISDN, but I have heard Sangoma cards are better but I couldn't get it to work.
I thought I had finished with IRQs when I moved to Vista but no IRQs can have some strange effects on a Asterisk system.
Just my mad ramblings....
