Blog Entries: 1 Rep Power: 33 | You might have noticed we had shall we say few issues over last few days so here is run down of what happened. Monday afternoon - 2:30ish Site starts to have issues and then goes down. Monday night - I get back rise call with hosting company in mean time start to look into issue. Late into evening ZeroHero joins me in quest to rack issues down. We both work till silly hours in morning but still not solved it but we decide to eliminate our database server but installing copy of edugeek on it and that runs fine Tuesday Morning - Lots of more testing and we have worked out issue with hosting talking to database on our dedicated server. Tuesday afternoon - Lots talks with director of support at hosting company and still working on it all. Tuesday evening - World must be ending as Me,Ric, Tony, Chris and ZeroHero are on msn discussing way forward. We decide not going to get far with hosting company who are blaming the dedicated server. So we decide to move edugeek.net over to our dedicated server. So we setup temp.edugeek.co.uk and redirect edugeek.net to this site. We have done this so that site is active until dns changes kick in. So we are going edited dns tags tommorow and and at some point in next 48 hours edugeek.net will stop redirecting and work as normal. We have got few issues still one of them being that site is bit sluggish but we are up and we will work on the issues over next day. So we are sorry for downtime once we have sorted issues out we will have full debrief. But we are back even if we might be limping slightly.. Would like to say big thankyou to ZeroHero and Ric who spent most of tonight getting the site working. Russell |

Blog Entries: 1 Rep Power: 55 | Try not to think of the site being slow ... EduGeek.net (or even the temporary .co.uk version) is now old enough to be nostalgic. We are going retro and bring the speed of the site back to where it was a few months back so you can al remember how fun the good old days were. ;-) |

So we decided just to move it across to dedicated server as most important thing was to get site working. Russ | |
