I'm sure the info was out there, but it would have been nice if eBay could have notified me that when I listed my items last week that royal mail prices were going to rise almost double. So listed my normal p&p prices only to be left out of pocket when it came to posting them.

Why should eBay let you know? Its upto you surely?

Have to agree with @FN-GM here. They cannot tell everyone the price increases because it is too much work for them. The onus is on you as the seller to make sure you are aware of the information.

just to be nice really, surely ebay will lose business from people selling items that cost more to post than to sell, also when postage rates rise without you knowing you then cannot amend said postage rates you've listed. it's a tricky one i guess especially when people have placed bids on items you can't really change the p&p. still i now know for next time!

Ebay works under the seller must be aware of everything before selling. I had a similar argument a few years ago when I bought something March 31st, postage was listed as £1.99, and RM upped postage to almost £4. Guy tried charging me the extra on postage, ebay sided on my side and said he should have been aware of the postal charge raises as they're usually announced around a month ahead of taking place.

I too got hit by this and had fork out more on postage to send it to the buyer.. though we have no defence

I just sent a parcel up to a fellow member and was surprised at the cost because I'd used Ebay charges as a guide. There will be a few more people caught out I suspect.
