I've got the Nexus 4 and it's great. Only thing that I've found lets it down is the low aux volume as have many others (Issue 41034 - android - Audio Output of Android 4.2.1 on Nexus 4 Very Low - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting) but I'm hoping that it'll be fixed by Google sooner rather than later!

I dont want anything bigger or I will need a man bag to carry it around with me. I did ask recently too.
I've just rooted and applied the rom below, is almost stock with no memory issues.
Supernova Rom
Works like a treat!!
Thanks

MusicFX is part of ICS and Jelly Bean already so it would make no difference to output

1st March 2013, 11:17 AM #21 As the S4 is due out soon, you should be able to negotiate a good deal on an S3 - absolutely cracking phone, I've had one pretty much since launch day and still love it.

1st March 2013, 12:02 PM #24 My Nexus 4 is absolutely brilliant, especially for the price, the S3 is obviously lovely but not sure it's worth the enormous premium over the N4 - spec wise they're very similar, and the N4 has no 'orrible UI and will get Android updates forever and a day, unlike a lot of Android handsets.

Oh right, well unfortunately there's nothing that can be done on the Nexus 4 to boost volume apart from rooting and installing a patch but that's not ideal at all.

Unlocking the bootloader and rooting the phone was the first thing I did to my Nexus 4 since there are lots of really useful apps that either require root (like AdAway, DataSync, GMusicFS, Market Helper and Multi-User App Share) or are better with root (like Cerberus Anti-Theft and Carbon Backup).

1st March 2013, 07:09 PM #27 Problem with the nexus 4 is they do not have micro sd support. I have 64gb sd card in my Galaxy II + the 12gb internal and I still want more.
If it was me I would get the Galaxy S3 or 4 when it is out. The overlay and apps from Samsung are far superior to the HTC ones. I used to have a nexus and HTC Desire HD so have a good angle on it.

decent battery life, as for the performance i dont really use all the features of smart phones but the UI is smooth and the screen is nice.
I also have a razrI ( XT890 ) and concur that it's a really good phone

My main concern with Samsung is their inability to write software without major bugs in it. The hardware seems quite nice though.
You also have Kies (which is awful) and their poor relationship with third-party developers (like CyanogenMod).

16GB currently isn't too much of an issue for me since I install games on my Nexus 10 and use Spotify/Google Music for music, but you are right that more storage is better - whether that's built-in, via a microSD card or both. Sadly, Nexus devices will never have microSD slots.
Isn't it about time we had 64GB and 128GB smartphones as standard from all manufacturers? The flash memory they use in mobile devices is dirt cheap. 32GB really should be the minimum these days.
