As some of you know, I am waiting on the delivery of a new phone all the way from China. As there is no-one at home (well apart from me!) and it will require signing for should I be safe to go to the office today or work from home (I was going to this morning anyway). Judging by the progress of this status update, should I stay at home or go into the office later and potentially miss the delivery?

4th February 2013, 10:12 AM #2 Doesn't say out for delivery, and that normally crops up by 7am if it is out... but I have absolutely no faith in delivery companies whatsoever, so you must, of course, put your life on hold entirely until the package arrives.
Even though when it does, they'll sign for it themselves and just drop it in your bin. Without telling you. Ten minutes before the bin men come round.

IIRC it's this one.
@Dos_Box I'd take the day off, any excuse to get out of the office is a good one.

4th February 2013, 11:49 AM #7 Actually, it's this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/STAR-N9770-S...9978348&sr=1-1
And the import duty is already paid, although I would be careful as many of the same model listed for cheaper do not already have the duty added on.
As i have said earlier, I shall do a review of this once it arrives and I've had it for a few days and then I shall let you all know which Amazon seller I brought it from.
My trusty old Nexus One got some very amused looks from everyone of the stand at BETT in a 'how-on-earth-do-you-manage' kind of way.

You probably did better battery-wise than I did though... Old phones have INSANE battery life. [I have a Nokia 3330 from about 10 years ago that STILL has charge.]

4th February 2013, 11:59 AM #10 Yeah, the Nexus One still gives me a weekends worth of life with 3G on and holds it's charge like it was new.

I would have thought that meant it's at the depot and will be out tomorrow, but IANADD.

4th February 2013, 12:05 PM #13 That's what I though. But 'tomorrow' was actually last Friday. So it could arrive any time now.

4th February 2013, 04:16 PM #15 Do you really think it would have arrived and we'd not heard?
