What is this, exactly? From the website it looks like some kind of multiplayer ARG, but how do you play it? I signed up anyway because it looks cool but I'd like to know what I'm getting into!

yes- its a massively multiplayer alternate reality game. Basically there are two teams (green and blue) and the object is to capture large areas of the population by capturing, hacking and linking 'portals'
