The new HTC TyTN phone (so more than just a PDA) out soon will have WM6 on it...

what are these phones suppose to be like, from reading on other forums and mailing lists they are not that good.
Anyone got further input about the HTC phones?
I've got a T-Mobile MDA Vario II, which is a rebranded TyTN
It's got a few little quirks, but I'd expect that from a first generation new phone like this. When I got it, it was a big tech jump from the Nokia phones I'd been used to for the past 10 years... It's certainly got bells and whistles. If I hadn't got it when I did I'd probably have been tempted by the Nokia N95 now. But then I've heard the odd bad stuff about them too. One of the other techs here has the same phone as me too, and he flashed it from WM5 to WM6. These sites should give you more info:

http://www.xda-developers.com/
So is it possible to to say flash a PDA with WM5 to WM6?
I need to eval some av products for mobile devices, im getting pda so that coes wm5 if i could flash with wm6 that would cover that and i also need to get a sep phone with symbian.... the remit of the project is for the application to work on the widely used o/s on mobile devices
I've been very happy with my MDA from T-Mobile (HTC rebrand) and so I was very interested in the HTC Touch (even at £300!). However, with everything I've read since, I won't be getting one![]()

Yep my Vario (aka the TyTn) runs WM6 right now and it was a breeze.Originally Posted by Nij.UK
I have had the Vario since it came out. it has a couple of issues but with WM6 fixes a lot of the annoying ones.
I was a Series 60 fan before but WM based mobiles are so much more.
Alex:
Dont bother with the touch at all, no 3g. The new vario 2/tytn 2 is rumoured (by the reg) to have the touch's interface AND 3g although the beta builds of the tytn 2 os have not shown it (its development name is the HTC Kaiser)
Wait for that to come out next month, it will probably be about £120 on t-mobile with a 12 month contract, cheaper with a 18 month though.

I'm a HTC User, but mines the O2 XDA2, fine its now getting on a bit, its been flashed up to 2003SE (originally was 2003) which fixed all the bugs I had with it. Works very well and I will be going for another HTC product when I change this in the next year or so.

I have the HP iPAQ voice messenger phone and it runs wm6 standard.
Ben
I also have the HP iPAQ voice messenger (514) and have found it to be great.
WM6 Supports push email as standard so having my nagios alerts sent directly to my phone is easy add to that mobile mail from VodaFone and this means alerts outside the office too.
Just what I needed, with MS Office and manymany other useful bits of software onbaord the only thing it is lacking is touch screen but that is not a great loss.
I have an Orange SPV M3100 it's basically an HTC Tytn/Hermes/Whatever!
it came with WM5 on, but I found the XDA Developers site, and flashed it to WM6, if you use a 2GB card like me and use Sprite Backup, you can re-flash the phone with new ROM's as and when there are any tested ones!!
take a looka at :http://www.xda-developers.com/
and http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ame=HTC_Hermes
Simon.

ICTNUT: how have you found the wireless in use?
