Hi everyone,
Got an email from the deputy head yesterday telling me about a video on youtube that had been recorded on a mobile phone with all of the class "taunting" the teacher....
Is there any way of getting rid of the video from youtube as the head was keen to get it off?
I have gone through the innappropiate material report to youtube but it still remains? Anybody encountered this?
Thanks.

Had a similar thing with kids setting up pages impersonating staff on myspace. Several stiff emails with the threat of legal action soon had them removed. We have youtube, myspace, bebo etc all banned within school.

Hi there,
I prefer not to say the URL at this moment, I would just be grateful if anybody had any info on how to get rid of the video as it doesn't really come under YouTube's violations (i dont think)
Is there any email address for them so i can email them and explain the situation?, I dont seem to be able to find one.
Thanks

You have to go through their help section then fill in an online form - they're pretty useless - it took us two weeks to get a video removed.

I've given up getting these removed - the first few were fine to get taken off but now they insist on we get a solicitor involved.
And besides - as network manager/technician is it really your job to be doing this everytime a video crops up?
You need to "educate" the kids and tell them not to include the name of the school in any of the tags

Set the LEA's legal department on them - that usually works

LOL
I think they were all sacked for losing a high profile discrimination case against the ex-Mayoress the other day - apparently the bill will run into 100's of thousands :P

You could make an account, pretend to be another student and trick him into tell you who he is.

but then that's entrapment
As to the OP: explain the situation to the head. I have a stock email from youtube basically saying it's not down to them and to involve "lawyers" or even ask the person to remove the video (yeah right!!)

Just to update everyone on this situation,
The suspected students were investigated and he finally confessed it was him and he was suspended and was told to remove the video (which he did) So everything turned out fine in the end.
Thanks
