    The NEW Weight Loss thread!

It's more than two years and 340 posts since @RabbieBurns started the original weight loss thread.

As it's that time of year when many of us look at our waistlines, or where our waistline should be, and don't like what we see, I thought it would be appropriate to start a new support thread for those of us who have some shaping up to do.

I was 12 stone 10lb just after Christmas two years ago and went down to 11 stone 4lb at my lowest ... now I'm up to 11 stone 13lb and want to get myself back down to 11 stone 7lb... and preferably stay there!

My diet is much better generally than it was two years ago and I am much fitter, I've just over-indulged too much in the last few months. Let sensible eating and more exercise resume!

I managed to put on about 3 stones after moving to Bristol for a year. Since moving back to Minehead, I've lost half a stone...

    Well
    24 months ago I was about 14St
    18 Months ago I was about 11St
    now @ about 12st-2lbs
I want to be at 10st7lbs

Too much Vino is my enemy so cutting right back, my diet has for the last 2 years been well monitored using Calorie Counter | Food Nutrition Data for Healthy Eating Choices ( free )

I walk to work and back most days, do halff an hours climbing monday/thursday and try to get out for a walk in the hills on a weekend.

Tried the GYM and it was a waste of money.

Low carbs, High protien is the way.

Chicken and bean salad for lunch mostly salad! should be less than 200 Cals.

Strangely enough, the last few christmas holidays I've put on weight (the most being an unbelieveable 9KG in 3 weeks) however this last holiday I didn't really put anything on despite eating and drinking far too much. However the one thing I did differently is walk the dog. Pretty much at least twice a day every day on a decent walk which while wasn't the most energetic was obvisouly more than I had done over christmas in years.

To be honest I know they say at least walk for some exercise, but I didn't realise how much it would help. Still getting back in the gym yesterday was difficult and I'm aching today, but at least the weight hasn't gone up like in previous years

Eat lots of nuts (unless you're allergic), do exercise and don't turn down chocolate when people offer you it. You'll be 15 stone in no time.

    I'm considering the gamer-diet.

Energy drinks and junk food combined with not moving for long periods while I play games.

You'll just get fat then, which is bad. You need to eat more but turn it into muscle instead... You don't wanna get a belly like I have. I look like a pregnant hippo!

Some people would pay good money to look like a pregnant hippo.

I joined one of the newly refurbished council-run gyms last year and get a discount as I work for the council. Unfortunately this may not be the same everywhere.
