We've had a pile of snow overnight in Somerset, but none whatsoever in Minehead. We're like a little haven for the grumps of the world who hate snow.

Local upper school is closed though, for some reason.

I think someone redirected it to Bridgwater/Taunton! Looking at Sky News this morning on the iPad, Somerset is due a "snow bomb" today - 5-10cm of snow fall within a few hours.

Yeah, my boss who drives in from up Burnham way down here, and had to come through Taunton as the Bridgewater - Williton road is in a very bad condition. The Taunton - Minehead road is passable but with care.

Fair play to the SCC and the gritters, they do seem to be doing a better then normal job at making the roads usable.

It's not fair. By the sounds of it we are the only place which hasn't seen much snow. We live in a massive valley so while the people on the hills of the North York Moors, Durham and Newcastle have had over a foot we have had 3 inches at most before it has melted

    I want a snow day!!!!!

I'm amazed at the thickness of the snow here. I asked a snowman for the time and he just stared blankly at me...

Yesterday we had a weather warning for snow [2 - 5 cm] for Friday evening. While that warning is still in force it doesn't seem to be supported by the televised forecasts: They are warning of high winds and heavy rain in our area. Not sure what to expect tomorrow.

Never draw weather data from one source. I've been getting very accurate short-term forecasts from comparing three different sources (Met Office, Metcheck, NOAA via Netweather) and at least one of them usually disagrees with the other two. Met Office actually seems the most general and unreliable!

Netweather's rainfall radar is also very good at predicting incoming snow if it is cold enough to know it will fall as snow. Nearer 0C you are taking a gamble.
