JING - Screen capture software
A new competitor has thrown their hat into the ring and it looks very useful (and free!).

Creates videos and/or a series of screenshots. It is intended that the output should be hosted on Screencast.com but you can save them locally as SWF files. After that it is up to you. Software written by Techsmith who also wrote Camtasia/Snagit so the quality should be good.
Enjoy

Does indeed look good... Worth noting that this is likely to become a cost project where you need to pay for an account or something..
A little look at the FAQ gives the necessary info but as yet it's a bit vague..

We've started using Wink. How does this compare? So far Wink is perfect, easy and quick to use, even by teachers!

I think the difference is that JISC does screen captures with markups rather than just video and the killer is that JISC allows you to share the result quickly and easily. Not sure what the problems are going to be re: filters, blocked ports, etc...

Jing doesn't seem to have any annotation features for videos like Wink and CamStudio does.

Re: JING - Screen capture software
Import the SWF into Flash. You can then do whatever you want.

Lucky bugger.. my mum used to walk in and open the windows at 7am during school week and 9am on holidays... "Game of draughts" we used to call it :P

Sorry, to those who got confused with this, you're right that this doesn't apply to videos... but screen captures, you can put in arrows and labels, etc... to "markup" the screen cap image.
